In November 2017, the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions released a nation-wide survey of nurses’ perspectives on home care and long-term care.
The survey of 1,116 home care and long-term care nurses from across Canada was conducted by The Vector Poll™ and provides insight into a variety of questions regarding home care and long-term care. It identifies an overloaded system facing increasing acuity, and risks to clients, caregivers and health care providers. These results point to the need for measures to ensure the safe provision of home care, as well as the need for additional staffing and minimum standards of care in long-term care to meet growing need and increasing acuity.
